The original idea for this project was to create an extendable arm that will attach to the pipe and rotate 90 degrees. The arm will then detach from the pipe. How we will connect to the pipe is yet to be determined, but we are planning on using a motor to rotate the arm.

We came into a problem with the idea of the motor. We've realized that it won't be strong enough to lift the pipe and will be too hard to program. Now we're pursuing an idea revolving entirely around physics.

We've finally started testing on our prototype. First we made sure that the pulley and spring system is strong enough. Now that that's confirmed, we need to figure out whether or not the system is too fast, and if so how we will slow it down. I don't think the speed will be a big problem as long as we find a way to secure the pipe to the arm. That will be the primary focus of our group now.
